This meeting will be held in conjunction with another event hosted by this institution on Population Ageing in the afternoon:
  1. 09:00 to 14:00 Seminar UIA: "Towards a responsible and sustainable architecture for the elderly"
  2. 16:30 a 21:00 Seminar of the SCA: "Population Ageing and the future of cities". There will be three round table topics, namely:
    1. What components should the cities of tomorrow have to ensure a better quality of life of the elderly?
    2. What will be the impact of new technologies on architecture and urbanism facing population ageing?
    3. What sort of innovations should the urban design have as to population ageing, the increase of the urbanization process and the ever-increasing gentrification?

With the support of The Hong Kong Institute of Architect (HKIA), UIA organized the "UIA Symposium on Asian Age-friendly City" on 28 Sep 2016 to coincide with ARCASIA Congress for Architects (ACA17) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. UIA President Ar. Esa Mohamed, RIV WG members Ar. Allen Kong (Australia), Ar. Norwina Nawawi (Malaysia) and SH (Hong Kong) and other WP Directors presented their works with overall 300+ delegates attending this Symposium from the Asia-Pacific region.
